Of note, never noticed this cursor problem while surfing, etc. when I undock and attempt to use the scroll pad I will no doubt dislike the fact that I will have to reset the scroll pad to be operational but at least it fixes this very annoying issue for the time being. Seems to work for the time being, will report back if this is not a long term solution. Went into the "scroll pad" settings of my mouse and disabled the scroll pad-turned it off. However I liked the features of a wireless mouse and keyboard and thought new devices would be alright to test, wrong. I removed the wireless mouse and keyboard that were part of my docking setup and attached a wired mouse and keyboard directly into the docking station (NOT into the USB of the laptop itself). My problems began months ago and I had my company IT guy look at it. I have a Dell laptop which is almost always on a docking station at work. Firstly my issues are the same as those mentioned in this string (cursor changes arbitrarily to double horizontal with dot), this happens not only in browsing (I use only Firefox) but also in Outlook when typing an email and in Word, etc. Please, if you can help I would appreciate it.Here is an answer I have not seen anywhere. I have tried everything that I know to do, and I can not fix it myself. It doesn't even matter if it is a website, if I scroll up and down on the troubleshoot page in firefox it still stutters while scrolling. This does not happen on Chrome, it is only firefox that does it. I have attempted that sessionstore.js fix, increasing the interval, disabling it completely, that didn't seem to help either. I have determined it is not addon related, as I have started fresh and didn't install any on my last reset attempt, it was having the same problem with or without addons That seemed to have helped for a second but after a few minutes of browsing the symptoms return.

Things I have tried: I have completely removed firefox from my system, most registry entries, all folders related to it, deleted and I have tried a fresh new install. Once this starts happening, it happens VERY frequently, like every other second, when I am scrolling up and down a page is when it is most noticable, the mouse cursor stops while firefox is "Frozen" and it resumes after a short second. I am going to do my best to explain this and the steps I have tried unsuccessfully to resolve it.ĭuring normal use (Even without any addons at all) after a short time, 5-10 minutes, sometimes quicker my Firefox stutters for a second, my mouse stops during the stutter and then it unfreezes.
